Charu is a partner at Silicon Legal Strategy.

She counsels emerging companies throughout their lifecycles including corporate governance matters, employment issues, drafting and negotiating commercial and technology transaction agreements, equity and convertible financing transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.

Charu also regularly represents venture-capital, angel and strategic investors in various financing and M&A transactions. Charu’s experience includes work in e-commerce, software, SaaS, cloud computing, big data, mobile, online advertising, and biotechnology industries.

Prior to joining SLS, Charu practiced at a Silicon Valley boutique law firm in Palo Alto where she also worked exclusively on startup corporate and commercial transactional matters.

Prior to attending law school, Charu worked for several years as a chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical industry at Merck & Co. where she led technical investigations to improve viral-vaccine manufacturing and supported new regulatory filings. With her technical background, Charu is a licensed Patent Attorney.

Charu received her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.

Outside of work, Charu enjoys eating out, raising her kids in the city, breathtaking California views, and doing crossword puzzles.
